About the AUC-ASGA Conference
The American University in Cairo was one of the first universities in Egypt which allowed students to have a role in their community. This originally started out to be small group of students writing petitions but has now grown to be a student government on campus creating life changing experiences.
After the American University in Cairo was established in 1919 it proved to be one of the most enriching schools present in Egypt as the administration did not only depend on a curriculum but also encouraged students to have a voice through a Student Government.
The Student Union first started as the first pillar of AUC’s student government with only one Committee, the Academic Committee. The committee offered to help students with writing petitions or complaints. They also can present and defend students who are having academic difficulties, as well as to give the AUC faculty and administration suggestions on improvements for generations to come.
